In this role, you will belong to Sweco Sweden's business unit Rail. The local team consists of nine people and is one of eleven technology groups, together you are over 130 employees working in the railway sector. Together, you work on southwestern Sweden's leading railway assignments, including Västlänken, Huskvarna – Vaggeryd, Bollebygd, and Floby bypass tracks. In this role, you can be based in either Gothenburg, Malmö, Växjö, Helsingborg, Hässleholm, Halmstad, or Varberg.

Responsibilities

As a designer in contact line systems, you will have a broad and varied role where you work with the entire chain – from early investigations and railway plans to completed construction documents and final documentation. Your work includes design in both large and small assignments. You collaborate closely with colleagues in track, signal, and electrical power and discuss technical solutions daily. The projects are both regional and national, and you have the opportunity to work both from the office and from home a few days a week.

The projects vary in size – sometimes you work full-time on a large project for a year, but often you have parallel assignments where the average is usually three projects at the same time. You participate in site visits in connection with project startups, where you and your colleagues inspect existing facilities to gain a better understanding of the assignment.

Education, experience, and personal qualities

  • Several years of experience in design within contact line systems; if you have longer experience, for example, 10–30 years, we see it as a great asset.
  • You do not need to be completely fluent in Swedish, but you can communicate and document at a level that allows you to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.

As a person, you are curious, engaged, and enjoy leading and developing teams. You have a strong communicative ability and build long-term relationships, both with clients and colleagues. Structured and responsible in your work, but at the same time flexible and solution-oriented when challenges arise. You have a holistic perspective and an interest in understanding the broader aspects of different technical areas. With an open attitude towards development and sustainability, you dare to think outside the box and contribute knowledge. You see the value in collaboration, share your expertise, and contribute to a positive work culture – where both business and job satisfaction are in focus.
